# Make a board

A board is a group of futures you can play together. A future is a short statement you want to practice. It can also have an image and a voice recording.

You can make a board for one part of your life, such as work, rest, or confidence.

## Make a board

1. Open **Boards**.
2. Tap **New Board** at the top right.
3. Give your board a name.
4. Tap **Create now** to make the board with its name only.

Your new board is ready to hold futures. You can also start from the app's **Create** button, then choose **New Board**.

If Futurecast shows a plan limit, read the choices on that screen. Your existing boards stay saved.

## Explain what your board is about

An **intention** is a few words about what you want from the board. Futurecast uses it when writing new futures for that board.

1. While making a board, enter its name.
2. Tap **Add intention**.
3. Write what you want to focus on. Include details that matter to you.
4. Tap **Create board**.

You can leave the intention blank and add it later. See [Write a board intention](https://futurecastapp.com/help/create-board-intentions) for writing help and style choices.

## Start with a ready-made board

**Starter Boards** are boards prepared by Futurecast. You can look through one before saving your own copy.

1. Open **Boards**.
2. Find **Starter Boards** and tap a board.
3. Look through its futures.
4. Tap the information button to read more about the board, if you want.
5. Tap **Save** in the preview, or **Save Board** in the information sheet.

The copy appears in your boards. You can also press and hold a starter board and choose **Add to My Boards**.

## Show or hide starter boards

1. Open **Boards**.
2. Tap the **three dots** at the top.
3. Choose **Hide Starter Boards** or **Show Starter Boards**.

This changes what appears in the starter section. It does not delete a board you saved.

Saved starter boards may disappear from the catalog view to make room for boards you have not saved. Use **Show Saved Boards** in the same menu to see them again when that option appears. Use **Hide Saved Boards** to hide them again.
