# Use photos of yourself, people, and pets

**My Likeness** holds photos that help Futurecast create images of you. The app calls these **Reference Images**. They are examples for AI to work from.

**People & Pets** lets you keep separate photos for someone else or a pet. **Featuring** is the picker where you choose who should appear in a new AI image.

You do not need these features to write a future or use your own photo as its image.

## Add photos of yourself

1. Open **Profile**.
2. Find **My Likeness** and tap **Reference Images**.
3. Tap **Add Photo**.
4. Choose **Take Photo** or **Choose from Library**.
5. Add a clear photo of yourself. You can keep up to five reference photos.
6. Tap **Done** when finished.

Choose clear views of your face. Different angles give the app more useful examples.

You may also be asked for reference photos while making an AI image. In that flow, add your photos and tap **Save & Continue**.

Profile changes save as you make them. The setup flow waits for **Save & Continue**.

<a id="choose-your-profile-photo"></a>

## Choose your profile photo

1. Open **Profile > My Likeness > Reference Images**.
2. Tap the photo you want to use for your profile.
3. Look for the highlight around the selected photo.
4. Tap **Done**.

This chooses your small profile picture. It does not force every new AI image to use that exact photo.

<a id="remove-a-reference-photo"></a>

## Remove a reference photo

1. Open **Profile > My Likeness > Reference Images**.
2. Tap the **x** on the photo you want to remove.
3. Tap **Done** when finished.

Removal happens immediately on this screen. Images already made for your futures are separate and stay on those futures.

If you remove every reference photo, Futurecast may ask you to add one before making another image of you.

## Add a person or pet

Use photos you have permission to use. The person form asks you to confirm that permission. For a child, it also asks for the guardian confirmation shown on screen.

1. Open **Profile > People & Pets**.
2. Tap **Add a Person or Pet**.
3. Choose **Person** or **Pet**.
4. Tap the photo **+** and choose **Take Photo** or **Choose from Library**.
5. Add one to five photos. Three to five clear photos from different angles work best.
6. Enter a name.
7. For a person, answer **Who is [name] to you?** Choose a word under **LOVE**, **FAMILY**, or **FRIENDS AND WORK**. Tap **Something else** to type your own word, then finish typing to select it.
8. If you want, tap **Add a note about [name]** and write up to 140 characters about who they are to you. The note helps Futurecast decide when they belong in a new image. It does not describe their looks or put them in every image.
9. Read and complete the permission confirmations that apply.
10. Tap **Add [name]**.

The choices include **Wife**, **Husband**, **Girlfriend**, **Boyfriend**, **Fiancé(e)**, **Partner**, **Mom**, **Dad**, **Sister**, **Brother**, **Grandma**, **Grandpa**, **Daughter**, **Son**, **Best friend**, **Friend**, **Coworker**, **Business partner**, and **Mentor**.

For a person, no relationship word is selected for you. **Add [name]** appears after you choose a word and complete the other required information. It disappears while you type a custom word and returns after you finish a valid word. If it is missing, check the name, photos, word, and permission choices. Pets have no relationship word or note.

You can also add a person or pet from the **Featuring** picker.

## Choose who appears in a new image

1. Start a new future, or open **Add Image** on a future.
2. Tap the names or chips under **Featuring**.
3. Choose **You**, a saved person, or a pet. Each image can feature up to two.
4. Choose **Scene only** if you want no one to appear.
5. Tap **Done**.
6. Check the choices before tapping **AI Vision**.

A **chip** is a small button that shows a selected name. Futurecast can use a person's exact relationship word and optional note when suggesting who appears. You can change those choices before generating.

If someone is unavailable in the picker, read the message next to their name. They may need photos, a permission confirmation, or restoration from the archive.

AI images can vary. Your choices guide the result; they do not guarantee an exact likeness.

## Include people and pets in board futures

Your board intention can describe moments you want to share with people or pets. Futurecast can use this when it writes new futures for the board.

You can use a name, a relationship, or both. For example: "I spend more time outdoors with my dog, Milo."

If a new future includes your dog, Futurecast can suggest Milo when you add an AI image. When the match is clear, he may already be selected under **Featuring**.

1. [Add the person or pet](https://futurecastapp.com/help/create-personalization#add-a-person-or-pet) to **People & Pets**. Include their photos and complete the permission steps.
2. [Write or edit your board intention](https://futurecastapp.com/help/create-board-intentions#explain-what-your-board-is-about). Explain the moments you want to share with them, then tap **Save**.
3. Open the board and scroll to the bottom. Pull up and release when you see **Release to generate futures**. You can also use the board's **Generate futures** menu option.
4. Read the new futures. Choose one and tap **Add Image**.
5. Check the selected names below **AI Vision**. Suggestions are based on this future, so they can differ from one future to another.
6. Tap the names or a **Choose** prompt to open **Featuring**. Change the choices if needed, then tap **Done**.
7. Tap **AI Vision** when you are ready to make the image.

Mentioning someone in your intention does not guarantee they will be included in every new future. Generating the futures also does not make their images yet.

If more than one saved person or pet could fit, Futurecast may ask you to choose. If no one is suggested, you can still open **Featuring** and choose them yourself.

Each image can feature up to two in total, including **You**. Choose **Scene only** if you want no one to appear. These choices apply to the new image; they do not rewrite the future's words or change existing images.

<a id="change-a-person-or-pet"></a>

## Change a person or pet

1. Open **Profile > People & Pets**.
2. Tap their card.
3. Change the name, relationship word, optional note, or photos.
4. Tap **Save**.

People saved before this release keep their broad relationship word until you choose a new word for them. Use **Cancel** to leave without saving these edits. Keep at least one photo. Changing these details does not rewrite images already on your futures.

<a id="hide-someone-from-the-picker"></a>

## Hide someone from the picker

**Archive** hides a person or pet from your normal choices while keeping their saved details.

1. Open **People & Pets**.
2. Tap their card.
3. Tap **Archive**.

To bring them back:

1. Open **People & Pets > Archived**.
2. Find their name.
3. Tap **Restore**.

You can also open their archived card and choose **Restore from Archive**.

Existing futures keep their images. A new request to recreate an image may need you to restore the person first.

<a id="delete-a-person-or-pet"></a>

## Delete a person or pet

Deletion removes their saved reference photos. Existing futures keep images already made with them. Choose Archive instead if you may want to use their saved details later.

1. Open their card in **People & Pets**.
2. Tap **Delete...**.
3. Read the removal message.
4. Confirm **Delete [name]**.

You can also delete someone from their menu in **Archived**.

To remove an existing image that shows them, [remove the image from that future](https://futurecastapp.com/help/create-images#remove-an-image). Deleting their reference photos does not do that for you.
