Share a board

A board is a group of futures.

A board is a group of futures. Sharing creates a link to a copy of that board at the time you share it.

Anyone with the link can view the shared board. Check the content before creating the link.

What people receive

The shared copy includes the board's name, intention, future words, and supported images. An intention is the note you wrote about what the board is for. It can contain personal details.

The copy can also include the original words saved when you created a future. These can differ from the words now shown after an edit. Share only content whose original words and intention you are comfortable giving to others.

Your display name and profile photo can appear with it. Voice recordings are not included.

Some images may be left out if they cannot fit the sharing limits. Those futures can still appear as text. Futurecast asks you to review an image warning before continuing.

Changes you make later do not automatically update a copy someone already added to their app.

Share a board

  1. Tap Boards.
  2. Open the board you want to share.
  3. Tap the three-dot menu.
  4. Tap Share Board.
  5. Review the preview and sharing notice.
  6. Tap Create share link.
  7. If an image warning appears, read it. Tap Continue only if you are happy to share with those images left out.
  8. Tap Share via... and choose an app or person. You can also tap the copy icon beside the link.

A board needs at least one future to share. The Daily Ritual and paused boards do not have this sharing option.

If Share Board is missing, check that you opened a regular, active board. The option also needs to be available in your version of the app.

Stop sharing

Stopping sharing closes the link. It does not remove copies that other people already added.

  1. Open the shared board.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu.
  3. Tap Stop Sharing.
  4. Read the warning.
  5. Confirm that you want to stop sharing.

You can also tap Stop sharing from the screen that shows the created link.

To share a changed version later, stop the old link and create a new one. Send the new link to the people you want to receive it.

Check your internet connection and use Try Again on the error screen. Read any limit message. A board that is too large needs fewer futures before it can be shared.

If stopping sharing fails, do not assume the link has closed. Contact support if you cannot complete it.

Add a board someone shared with you.
