Set reminders for your practice
A reminder brings you back to your Daily Ritual or a chosen board.
A reminder brings you back to your Daily Ritual or a chosen board. A board is a group of futures about one topic.
Set it from Today
After you finish your Daily Ritual, Today shows a reminder line under Replay.
- Tap Remind me tomorrow, Set a reminder, or Change beside the time shown.
- Set Time. It starts at your saved time when the reminder is on. Otherwise, it starts at 8:00 AM.
- Tap Save.
Today then shows your next reminder, such as Tomorrow at 8:00 AM. This is your Daily Ritual reminder. Saving here keeps the days you already chose in Profile.
To stop it, open the same screen and tap Turn off reminder.
If notifications are off for Futurecast, the screen says so. Tap Open Settings, allow notifications, then return and tap Save again.
More reminder settings
For repeat days, board reminders, and more, open Profile > Daily Practice. The instructions below cover both reminder screens. Use the section that matches what you see.
Daily reminder
If you see Reminders:
- Tap Reminders.
- Tap the Daily Ritual card.
- Turn on Reminder on.
- Set Time.
- Choose the days under Repeat.
- Allow notifications when your iPhone asks.
Changes save as you make them. Use the back arrow to return to Reminders.
Board reminders
- Open Profile > Daily Practice > Reminders.
- Tap Add a reminder.
- Choose a board.
- Set its time and repeat days.
- Check that Reminder on is enabled.
You can also open a board's three-dot menu and tap Remind Me. If it already has a reminder, the menu says Edit Reminder.
A board can have one reminder. If you reach the reminder limit, remove an unneeded board reminder before adding another.
Turn off reminders
Use the switch beside a board on the Reminders screen. Or open a reminder and turn Reminder on off.
To remove a board reminder:
- Open the reminder.
- Tap Delete reminder.
- Confirm Delete.
You will stop getting that reminder. The board and its futures remain saved.
The Daily Ritual reminder can be turned off. It does not have the same delete option.
Private text
An enabled notification reminder can show your words on the Lock Screen. Consider who may be able to see your screen before turning this on.
- Open the reminder.
- Find Show on lock screen.
- Turn it off to keep the reminder's text generic.
- Check the preview below the setting.
Turning this off does not turn the reminder off. For a board reminder, it hides the board's name and future text. For the Daily Ritual, it hides the future text.
If you have several reminders, a reminder may show the board's name without a rotating future. The preview explains what it will show.
Alarm option
If your reminder editor has a Delivery section, you can choose Notification or Alarm.
- Open an enabled reminder.
- Find Delivery.
- Tap Alarm.
- Follow the iPhone's alarm permission prompt.
- Check that Alarm is selected afterward.
Alarm access is separate from notification access. If an alarm cannot be saved, read the message and keep using Notification until the issue is resolved.
The Lock Screen text preview applies to Notification delivery.
If you see Daily Ritual Reminder
Some versions show the daily settings directly in Profile:
- Turn on Daily Ritual Reminder.
- Allow notifications when asked.
- Set Reminder Time.
- If Show your futures appears, choose whether the reminder includes your future text.
Turn Daily Ritual Reminder off to stop it.
Missing reminders
- Check that the reminder is enabled.
- Check its time and selected days.
- If you see Notifications are off, tap it to open Settings. In the simpler interface, tap Open Settings.
- Allow Futurecast notifications in your iPhone settings.
- Return to Futurecast and check the reminder again.
For Alarm delivery, check the alarm permission message separately.
